Phase 1: Relief Care

Many people seek chiropractic care because they’re in pain. During this initial phase of treatment, the primary goal is to identify the root cause of your issue and reduce your symptoms. This may require daily visits or two to three visits per week for a period of time, depending on your condition.

A common misconception is that if you’re not feeling pain, you’re healthy. However, pain is a poor indicator of overall health -it often appears only after a condition has become advanced.

For example, a cavity in your tooth doesn’t usually hurt when it first forms—it becomes painful only once it’s serious. The same applies to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stress, and spinal issues – pain is often the last symptom to appear.

Similarly, when you begin chiropractic care, pain is usually the first symptom to improve – even though the underlying condition may still require ongoing care to fully resolve.

Phase 2: Corrective Care for Lasting Health

Reducing pain is often the easiest part of chiropractic care – but stopping there increases the likelihood of symptoms returning. To prevent a relapse, it’s important to continue treatment even after the pain subsides.

During the correction and restorative phase of care, you’ll typically need fewer adjustments than in the initial phase. Depending on your condition, you may also begin incorporating exercises and stretches – either at the center or at home – to support and accelerate your recovery.

It’s normal to experience occasional mild flare-ups during this phase as your body adjusts and heals. Don’t get discouraged—this is part of the healing process. The length of this phase varies based on the severity of your condition and how long you’ve had it, lasting anywhere from a few months to a couple of years.

Phase 3: Wellness Care for Ongoing Health

Maintaining your health is essential for long-term well-being. Once your body has healed, regular chiropractic care helps prevent recurring issues and keeps your body functioning at its best. Just like sticking to an exercise routine and a healthy diet to maintain fitness, ongoing chiropractic care supports the health of your musculoskeletal system.

By making chiropractic care a regular part of your lifestyle, you can avoid many common aches and pains, keep your joints healthier for longer, and stay active—allowing you to fully enjoy the activities you love.
